Silver Linings
I’ve been struggling lately. I sat, simmered, and stood. Staring at the computer screen, I retreated and returned while deliberating what to write. For those of you who know me, I always find the silver linings even during the toughest times. But it’s been challenging. It’s been lousy. It’s been a pendulum of emotions that swing from high to low and back again.
Our country, the UNITED States of America, is divided, divisive, and discombobulated. Is this truly our nation? It feels foreign and frightening. With every news nugget and flash of photos, I shake my head in disbelief. And as you may also have experienced, it’s gotten personal, too.
To be honest, I could climb onto my soapbox and preach about our insane political climate. But I’m sure you’ve had it with the ranting, and I’m right there with you. I choose peace and gratitude. I love fiercely, unconditionally, and compassionately. Instead of the tears, today I will share with you what I hope brings tranquility in this turbulent, toxic time in which we are living.
Nature grounds and inspires me. I’ve been pausing to capture videos for years. Why? I find them peaceful and calming to watch when the world around me is shaky, unsettled, and rocked.
A few months ago, I decided to start sharing my meditation videos on Instagram and Facebook every Sunday. I hope you enjoy these nature scenes, soothing images, and feel a sense of peace as well. You can find all of my published nature meditations and videos on Instagram or my Youtube Channel (see below).
I’m embracing the gifts that I’ve been given and the opportunity that I have to weave a thread of positivity in the life of my family and friends. Though times are tumultuous, and our call to action is heavy, I hope you, too, can balance the good, bad, and ugly within every day.
