I just went for a walk in this balmy, beautiful weather here in South Florida.
I was about to start driving but then this Madonna song, “Who’s That Girl,” came on the radio.
And I'm trying to take a lemon and make lemonade. But I must tell you this one is a toughie! Because it involves someone else and someone else's time, kindness and graciousness.
Here in Charlotte visiting one of my best friends—my soul sister. Pure, honest sharing without judgment. Tears, laughter, hugs, and uninterrupted (well almost!) connection.
So she wrote back, “I’ll challenge you. Isn’t being a perfectionist sort of fear of rejection?”
I haven't been to this park since my kids were toddlers. And my daughter asked me to snap some pictures of her. Such a meaningful afternoon together. We landed here, hoping to see horses, which we did.
I am walking across a bridge. (I shared a story about bridges last time I was in Vermont.) But it was fall then. It looks a bit different now!
My intention was to go for a walk hours ago, and that just didn’t happen. (Does just wearing workout clothes count? ). I feel kind of, bleh - my energy, physically, emotionally, mentally.
I'm reminiscing, reflecting, and roaming the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts. Eight amazing, musical summers. And walked by this field that I haven’t thought about in decades.
Sometimes when I process emotions - I was tweaking a few tough, tender scenes - I get cold. Freezing. I don't know why that happens. And I had a nudge to grab something that I've never worn.
Magical. Musical. Memorable. Eight life changing summers @interlochenarts in Michigan.
Rather than a release or a whoosh of inspiration, I felt jumpy and off kilter. Strange. And it rocked me. I needed my salve—Nature.
I jumped on. Gripped the rusty metal handles. Listened to it creak as I leaned back and looked at the sky.
I felt frustrated. I kept trying to move my screen forward. It. Would. Not. Budge. Then I had a thought that inspired today's Soul Story.
I love listening the leaves rustle in the gentle morning wind. I captured this brief video to share some personal thoughts about connection and fall. I hope this week’s Soul Story resonates with you.
Bridges - between people, life’s milestones, places you love. Connection.
I am grateful for these unexpected moments. And I wanted to share them with you in this space. I hope my words resonate. Please reach out and let me know.
