When life unfolds in unexpected ways…
Another spontaneous moment. Another spontaneous sharing. That is what my weekly (bi-weekly this week!) Soul Stories are about.
And I’m trying to take a lemon and make lemonade. But I must tell you this one is a toughie! Because it involves someone else and someone else’s time, kindness, and graciousness. This week’s podcast guest @RobertGwaltneyjr is such a kind human being.
We had an incredibly vulnerable, honest conversation Thursday on Every Soul Has a Story Live on Instagram–and it’s gone. I cannot find it. As if it vanished into cyberspace.
I felt so badly, nearly in tears. I troubleshooted, texted tech-savvy friends, and exhausted all options. And I finally reached out to Robert. He sent me a message while I spun in a funnel of frustration.
“Maybe our conversation was supposed to be ephemera because it was just so lovely.”
How beautiful is that? How kind. How true.
Ironically, I now remember that part of our discussion included talking about how moments unfold just the way they’re meant to. We chatted about him releasing his first novel in midlife. I said to Robert, “How amazing is it that we think there’s a beginning, middle, and an end—whether in a book or in life’s chapters.”
And I’m a huge believer in silver linings, which I often share on the page. That’s how I live–in my personal life, in my professional life, in every area of life.
You can’t always plan everything and sometimes you just have to pivot. So I am.
When is the most recent time where something didn’t work out the way you wanted it to? How did you handle it? What did you do? Did you flip the script? Reach out and let me know.
